bc northern lights producer -chronic and green giant- with bcnorthernlights 'producer'

more chronic colas, this plant should be called green monster!
this chronic bud is thicker then my thigh

more green giant dicks. the two hangers are one box!!! and the box was not at peak performance!!!

once manicured (as intact plants)these donkey dicks can be easily managed by hooking them on a hanger and drying them in a closet with the day slightly ajar for air flow

these buds are huge! green giant

look at the lower branches, no stem or stock in sight, thanks advanced nutrients

just left of my hand is the lowest breaking under the weight.

this is also was the lowest branch on another green giant. t5 sunblaster!!

theres a reason its called green giant. this one should tip the scale past 60g in my opinion. 18 times 60g means that under optimum conditions at least 1080g of medicine can be achieved with every crop!!

i would guess that dry this will weigh at least 7 grams. it would have been removed had there been no fluorescent enhancement beneath the canopy

day 63 this was the lowest branch on a green giant! the girth, maturity and tight internodes would never had been possible without the t5 sunblasters

this is 45.1 grams from one plant harvested 2 weeks early!! tasted and smoked amazing!bcnl is the shit!!!

this is a 10 gram cola from the plant harvested 2 weeks early( the one i estimated 45-55g)

with this crop about 14 days till harvest and really filling the box and both 430 watt bulbs turned off, you really get an idea about how much just two 4 ft t-5 sunblasters light up the lower 1/2 for the chamber, double click the image for a better view

in seven weeks some colas are twice as thick as my forearm and almost twice as long!

the trick to bumper yields is grower perfect identical plants

this is on of the smaller out of this crop and my guess is that it'll weigh from 45-55g

in 14 days all hairs will be browning and resin production at its peak

even the smaller buds are monstrous

hydroponics has no other competition when it comes to huge sticky colas

its hard to tell in this image but the base of this cola is twice as thick as this pop can

look at the crystal production with another 2 weeks in total till harvest

these nugs are so crystally and stinky

on day 49 these monsters have 7 days left of just water and 75 ml of liquid carboload, 3 days of just water then 4 days of shock ripening: ice water and complete darkness

this plant was cropped early because it was so dense that its bud started showing signs of bud rot

35 days

this white widow bud on the right(far right below) should weigh 56g in 3 more weeks

if 18 plants can reach 2 ounces each, the potential of the highest gram per watt yield is truly staggering. that's 1008g from 800 watts which equals 1.25g/w. these results are rarely if ever achieved by any master in any setting.

the green giant at 35 days is extremely resinous

once green giant stops stretching around week 5, all its energy goes outwards to vigorous bud production more than upwards

using the compact fluorescent as seen left and below adds more spectrum and light to your canopy, adding ounces to your final tally.

under optimal conditions, plants can grow 1.5 inches a day at certain stages in there respective growth patterns

boxes are lightweight, convenient and efficient, exactly what any sick person needs:practicality.

green giant and chronic day 7(left) plants have more then doubled in mass in just a week.

day 1 flower. its good to give babies a head start by transplanting into 3 inch rock wool cubes and vegging under fluorescent tubes for 3-14 days allowing roots to pop through the bottom and start vigorous growth. so by the time you crop off u have 3-6 inch babies ready for flowering.

essentially, the producer from bcnl is a dialed in grow room on wheels. it contains a deep water culture hydroponic system, an extremely simple lcd environmental control panel, co2, 2 400w digital lumatek ballasts and 18 plant sites. when the box (producer) is dialed with optimum conditions: strain, food program, temp, humidity and after market yield boosters. patients can achieve over 2lbs of medicine with little to no veg time aka sea of green. hydroponic plants can grow twice as fast and yield twice as much as traditional soil grown plants under optimum conditions (uoc) in less time. pictured here is a weekly sequence of white widow clones from the beginning of week 1 to the end of week 5 ( more pics to come). white widow is 60/40 sativa indica and is perfect for sea of green and superior for its medicinal properties. great white shark, island sweet skunk, green giant, northern lights and other sea of green strains work extremely well in the boxes. these white widows have so much girth and thc at week 6 that its hard too imagine they still have 3-4 weeks left.

  2. Excellent info my friend. Can I ask you a question? Do I have to use distilled water? I've been using regular tap water and my PH levels go up every day so I am contantly adjusting levels on a daily basis. I don't want to buy 15 gallons of distilled water every week. Is a reverse osmosis system necessary?

    Thanks,

    ReplyDelete
  3. these are great questions. if you are willing to spend the time and money and work on distilled water you can, this would make conditions optimal, but, depending on where you live, i'll bet your tap water is close to pure anyway. even if you use the distilled water though your ph will probably change more so then with your tap water. hydroponic resovoirs ph need constant attention because plants are always feeding and ppm, ph and water levels changing hourly depending on the size of your babies. id recomend to buy a digital ph meter (a tri meter is optimal). adding water should also be on your daily list of chores to maintain your ppm which effects your ph dramatically. monitering ph and ppm are the basics in any hydroponic system. this daily work will ensure that your babies stay strong and healthy, so enjoy it. i try to moniter ph,ppm and temp of my res evry two hours. secret grow tip- the more consistant conditions you maintain in your growing enviroment, the bigger and better your yields will be! you will get out of your plants exactly what you put in!

  4. Hey Doc, Does HyOx create some sort of foamy green stuff on your air-stones? Is that supposed to happen?

    ReplyDelete
  5. foamy green stuff sounds like algea to me.clean your res, add fresh nutes and add hyox every 2-3 days to your res, make sure to avoid using organic nutrients, make sure no light is penetrating the res, manually check and clean air stones daily and do not use carbolaod liquid unless you have enough roots to suck it up( around week 1-3 of flowering). carboload will just create an algea if sitting in a res unused, especialuy around hi oxygen areas. though algea does not directly effect plants, it will suck all the oxygen out of your res eventually leading to root rot if not eliminated immediatly. i would not recomend icing sugar, syrup, molasses or other competitor product for carbo boosting your plants. anything negatively effecting plants-no matter what the manufacturer claims- should be exluded from your feeding program. hydroponic systems are very sensitive to mold , algea and fungus. i'd avoid any type of powder nutes or suppliments as well. follow my new feeding chart in my "purple kush" post for my most updated and provin to work recipe to avoid problems and/or crop failure:)

  6. I just transfered my clones into the producer from coco medium and everyone is looking sad. I mixed 10 gals of RO and went with the feeding chart from Advanced Nutes. What else do I do now? Am I supposed to just close the doors on the airlines? wouldn't that stop the air from the pump to the stones? am I supposed to place the air pump inside the producer? Thank you in advanced! i have programed the date and time is there any settings or rocker switches I need to flip?

    ReplyDelete
  7. they will look pretty sad until the roots tap into the res, which could take 1-10 days depending on how happy they were. i recomend rooting into the 3" cubes int he producer, and once they've all rooted and start growing, flower them. your yield may seem lower, nut you get more crops a year and have less work, resources and waste to deal with(sea of green). growing them big to me isn;t wirth it over time, i've done the controlled studies:) the air pump and stones are all in the cabinet, worry not about that, just make sure to replace stone stones every crop. if i veg its 12 hrs hps/12 hrs compact flourecent. 18/6 hps is also fine for veg. i wouldnt mess with the programmer too much if you don't have to. everything should be dialed for you:)

  8. hey hows it going medicineman? i been reading your blogs for awhile now and amazed at the crops you can pull! i am about to receive my new producer this week. the only problem is i am green at growing medicine and don't want to mess up my first crop. i will starting out with pk. the thing is though i noticed the veg and feeding schedules from bcnl's and yours are really different. for example your ppm compared to theirs is double etc.. i was wondering if kind enough to set me up with a feeding chart from veg to flower?

  9. rule #1- focus on production, not on failure.
rule #2- every grower has his/her own formula for success
rule #3- if yer growing pk- follow the pk post for the formula on this blog, (if you need it in loose leaf< write it out:))

  10. Hey Doc, Have you ever heard of Carboload eating roots? Can it go bad? My widows are looking great but I haven't been using CL and feel the buds could be fuller. I'm just starting week 6 today and before I mix up a new batch of nutes, I was going to buy a new bottle of carboload cause I don't trust the gallon I got from BCNL. If you have a minute you can see where I'm at... http://www.420magazine.com/forums/journals-progress/89834-bbbg-bloombox-blackberry-grow-4.html
Oh you can check out the mods I made to my box too.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The reason I ask is it's happened to me on my previous grows and with everything going so well I would hate to screw it up now.

    ReplyDelete
  12. okay, the bottom line is you never wanna add any form of powder to hydroponic nutrient resoviors. they will create a sludge which turns to root rot quickly. follow my purple kush recipe to a t and you'll be fine. only start using carboload liquid when roots are big and established, week 1-3 of flowering depending on veg time:)

    ReplyDelete
  13. just checked yer pics, your grow looks pretty impeccable. white widow tends to grow and stretch even into week 6-7 depending. the buds will get fatter and denser as the weeks go by because it does have 60% sative. i think you'll do well, and if you have awesome roots, add 60 ml lcbl per 12.5 gal. remember arjan recommends 10 weeks to get a connoisseur feel from this strain, i think 7-9 in hydro is more then enough. you will know for your situation soon. hydro, co2 and advanced nutrients make for faster crops:)

  18. hey medicine man , ive checked them all out , just wondering if you had any more journals upcoming or in production (lol) your puttin on this blog.So i take it you got moved and all that sorted out, congrats.Overall what strain do you think has the best quality for quantity combo for these boxes? And what other strains have you grown in these. Appreciate your help and i do think $3400.00 is a lot for a grow box :-( even though i know the quality is superior. How many squared meters or meters squared is this box overall anyways?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yeah i know your thinking i posted what strains would work well in this.... but was just wondering what you feel if you could only give one as far as best quality for quantity combo what would you pick if you had to pick only 1 ... and that also goes for cloning success rate .. all those factors combined ..and the whole squared meters question from above lol . Once again sorry to bother you, you must be very busy

    ReplyDelete
  20. the best strain for production/quality would be a pure afgahni #1. this isnt the only one but its one of the most potent, high yielding, fast finishing and stinky varieties.

as for the money/cost, id rather be growing. experience is priceless.

its no bother for me to help you,the box is roughly 120cm long, 120 cm high, and 75cm deep.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Well, to be honest ive done a lot of studying on sea of green and quantity and quality combos with yield and so on ... surprises me Afghani 1 was your overall most solid pick. You lightyears ahead of me in this subject dont get me wrong just surprising nonetheless. I was wondering if you considered success rate and ease of cloning into your answer. What sog strain seems to clone time after time easier then the others. Or is Afghani 1 on top of the list in that department to :-).
Lookin through your grow journals in the Producer im shocked at the difference in yield from the Green Crack and Chronic as to your other grows even including the Afghani Kush. Is there any reason you didnt choose either the Grn Crk or Chronic over the Afghani 1 considering those amazing colas you got outta Green Crack and chronic and the dried weight. When you would take mothers off a strong plant in that grow and clone another 18 to run flower in the producer did you see about the same sized colas and yield off the Grn Crk and chronic as you did in the previous grow before you cloned them.
Once again you make it seem so easy you would wonder what one could do to mess up a crop being put through a run through this machine since it does it automatic outside of settings times and adding res. What then would cause someone to fail at growing in these specific boxes? I mean any fool can add the right ammount of nutes and set it for time schedule and basically let it run its course for the week to week. Just dont see what coudl go wrong during the flowering stage.. anything you can think of that stops people from a successful grow with a optimum feeding schedule all mapped out and all.. because i know i sound like a broken record but it handles basically the rest until harvest right? I know long post but just me and a friend who have been following your amazing blog have been askin eachother these same questions lol. Thanks once again for your time . heres to happy smoking

    ReplyDelete
  22. for every place where i put green crack at above i meant Green Giant lol ....

    ReplyDelete
  23. okay, you specifically asked quality/quantity strain. no disrespect to the breeder or those who enjoy "chronic", but it is low quality. i enjoy the smoke on occasion, but prefer "hashplant" varieties from afgahnistan, nepal, pakistan and india for my chronic pain. chronic is not high quality, but the yield is hard to beat. furthermore, afgahni #1 clones easy, grows sturdy and compact with potential for monster yields in 40-50 days, with a quality better then kush and unlimited resin for medicinal purposes. all the longtime growers and smokers agree afgahni is superior to kush, but kush smells and tastes better. ive got 2lb a light with pk of some of the best pot ever grown in canada(feed back from heads) and my opinion. a/k needs space to yield, afgahni grows great with one single cola and small spaces.

as for crop killing, obsessive compulsive novice growers give the ladies too much attention hoping it will help, but on the contrary this meddling with the plants is hindering which leads to stress, which leads to grower panic which leads to more hindering behavior to treat the stress caused initially by the same cause, do u dig??? i tyry to tell my apprentices to treat the plants(female) like they were women. what happens when you love, smother and give women too much attention: they dunp your ass and you are left alone. same thing with grows, too much love and attention means you in an empty grow room, alone. the plants need their privacy and breathing space just like humans do, 99% of novice crop fgailure is due to overzealousness, lucky for them there is potential indoors to rock 4-9 grows per year or more depending on the system, giving lots of chances to learn from mistakes, which is the only way humans really learn:-)

  24. Great post!!! I see what your sayin about the Afghani #1. I was wondering if theres any chance your considering or would consider running a pure aghani #1 in the producer and maybe post a couple pics of the grow. If not i understand you seem pretty busy growing that forest of life :-)...But am very interested at seeing what you can do when the combo of your craft along with the optimum conditions a producer can harvest will do with a pure aghani #1.
Thats crazy as far as crop failure being overmanaging your babies. So from week to week when you post about every 7 days with new res recipe and co2 recipe... my question is during those days after you change res and balance the ph .. you dont do anything but just let the machine do its own thing without any care besides controlling ph levels until week is up ? Thats incredible if thats correct becuase theres hardly any work at all involved from week to week then.
Sorry if i am way outta control by asking you to grow a sepcific strain just for my viewing enjoyment and learning process lol. My friend is considering getting one of these producers and asked if theres any way that could be done as and id said id at least ask. As usual any advice or pics is worth its weight in gold to us. Thanks for your time Doc , talk to ya soon :0)

  25. i wont have any new posts with boxes till sept oct. purple kush and afgahni/kush are very close to an afgahni #1. why dont you get the seed and try it yerself and send me the pics? there actually arent many strains these days that dont have any type of afgahni in them becuase of its dense nodes, strong stems, high yield, high potency and extremely short flower time. i dont need a post or pivs to tell you guys that. i ve grown many pure afgahns in many different scenerios.

  27. i have mothers, there was 8 producers at this r/d facility, 1 being used soley for mamas. plus, babies are very available here for 4-6 bucks a piece. this is optimal conditions. you have to figure out what will work best for YOU. i have a medical license, and work in the medical community, i have access to anything and everything i need to creat perfect cycles, you need to figure out what is your perfect cycle for the resources YOU have available. if you cant have a mom, you will have to veg longer to accomidate your cycle. but this will trim 1 or 2 crops a year of your schedule. get a mama.

  28. I just ordered my BCNL Producer...i wanted to know if you grew from seed or clones and if seeds where did you get you Green Giant seeds from? I have been trying to decide on a strain to go with for my first hydro grow. I been Lookin at white widow, green giant big bud and skywalker. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks and man your pics are jaw dropping...later

  29. i grow from clones from seeded mothers. it is the most productive way. i got the green giant from bud capital medical marijuana seeds. strain is almost everything, its always been the hardest decision for me to make when starting new stock. i would advise you to pick a strain that is suitable for sea of green first off. then decide what potency, smell flavour and high next. variety like anything else is subject to the grower. if its your first time in hydro, a hardy strain like nl#5, afghani#1, super skunk or hashplant to name a few give big yields, quality herb, and fast finishes. this is what i usually look for for cycle crops. i will have a sea of green in dirt crop posted soon with 1/2 afgoo and half bc gc in a producer, 50 cuttings total.

  30. Im guess that Bud Captial MM seeds is out there somewhere...probably wont ship to the states...but yea I have narrowed it down to a few...I wanted some BuKU from TH Seeds but they are sold out so might be kusage or MK Ultra. have you heard anything good about medical-marijuana.nl seeds they have a good variety but just curious...like u said stick to one strain to get the best yield...i will have pics up by the end of the month...

  31. all of th seeds strains are top notch. i trust american/canadian breeders any day over tobacco/bud smoking europeans. th seeds might have the largest selection of unique hybrids, and none of them are dated. even theur sativas are extremely strong stones. ive noticed the quality of sensi seeds and dutch passion and greenhouse decrease since i started growing 15 years ago. it just seems like north americans have fresher stock or more fitted for how north americans like to medicate. last time i was in a'dam. i rooled a 1 gram joint of white widow and smoked it all and the dutch told me i would die and need an ambulance???? dna, th seeds, dr atomic and bcsc have amazing hybrids. as well as visc and next generation.

  32. Hey medicine man, 2 questions:
I'm growing from seed LA Confidential from DNA in the Bloombox they are about 4 or 5" tall when would you ship them over to the flowering chamber?
And Im having trouble maintaining a contant PH it keeps wanting to rise on me also I see you have tweeked the nutes recipe from BCNL any suggestion for my strand?

    ReplyDelete
  33. when they are rooted in 3 inch rockwool(popping out the bottom) you should flower them. your strain is a afghani/og kush hybrid, so it will stretch. look at how tall the bcgc are in the the "white widow" post. those were 3-4 inches tall when flowered< now they are 2 feet in 5 weeks! gas makes plants grow up to 50% faster(usually30%) but his grow has been optimal, and in dirt organically. there is no need to veg any further. flip them< take more, and get up to 7 crops a year, good luck. i would keep ppm no more then 1400 peak flower and add some organic nutes for taste and smell. ph will always rise at change and then slowly to the end of the week stabilize. this is very normal.

  34. Quick easy question here. Seems outta all the strains you look up (mainly on google and google images) you can get a lot of detailed looks at any certain strain of marijuana. The single most hardest strain to find finished pictures of nugs and bud shots is the Pure Afghani #1. By any chance could you leave links or personal photos links of good examples of this strain please.Pictures is the only thing im looking for ..can find tons of info on detailed information on the strain but never good pictures.Once again much appreciated. This strain has me captivated
